The Punjab government has completed all necessary security arrangements to maintain law and order situation during
Muharram and reserve police contingents would be deployed in every district of the province during
Ashur. This was disclosed by the Provincial Minister for Mines and Minerals Muhammad Sibtain Khan while addressing a joint meeting of Ulema, police officers and members of peace committee here on Wednesday.
Addressing the meeting, the Minister said special control rooms had been set up in 34 districts where police officials would perform duty round the clock, while police commandos would be deployed on the routes of processions of Muharram to ensure safety of Azadaran.
He stated that foolproof security plan had been prepared adding Ulema should play their due role to promote religious harmony and peace, and brotherhood.
